Today I’m going to make and share the benefits of turmeric tea. This tea is made with turmeric root or powder. And today I’m using turmeric powder for this recipe.

Recipe for 1 cup of Turmeric Tea:

Water                                1 ¼ cup
Turmeric Powder             ½ tablespoon
Black Pepper                    ¼ tablespoon
Grated Ginger                  ½ cup

How to Prepare Turmeric Tea:

The mug I’m using measures 2 cups. I’m taking a mug and ¼ of water in a saucepan. This means 2 and ¼ cups of water. Turn on the heat and add 1 teaspoon of grated or powder turmeric. Next add ½ a teaspoon of black pepper powder and 1 teaspoon of grated ginger. ¼ cup of water is extra as some water will get evaporated during the boiling process.

I would recommend using homemade black pepper powder. It’s easy to make black pepper powder at home. Simply roast the black peppercorns stirring constantly to avoid burning them. When they start releasing their aroma let them cool down a bit and then grind the in a grinder. And you will get fine aromatic black pepper powder like dust. You also have an option to use ginger powder in case if you’re out of fresh ginger. Now allow the water to simmer for 10 minutes. Now after 10 minutes turn off the heat and let it rest it for 5 minutes. Then pour it in a cup and enjoy all the goodness of turmeric, black pepper and ginger.

Benefits of Turmeric Tea:

Turmeric’s main ingredient is curcumin. Curcumin gives turmeric it’s yellow color and has anti – inflammatory and immune boosting properties. I’ve added black pepper as contains piperine which helps absorb curcumin and also increases our metabolism for fast weight loss. You also have an option to add cayenne pepper if you’re allergic to black pepper. However adding either one of these peppers is mandatory for weight loss benefits i.e. if you do not add pepper, turmeric will not work on you, the way it should. Ginger has a stabilizing effect on blood sugar, cholesterol and lipids. It has thermal effect which raises the body’s temperature by burning stored fat.

This turmeric tea treats chronic lung conditions like asthma, pulmonary cystic fibrosis etc. It has anti diabetes properties and protects against liver damage and gall stones. It’s even beneficial as it helps you get your blood sugar levels to normal. This turmeric tea reduces arthritis symptoms and boosts immunity. With this tea our body is easily able to absorb curcumin which otherwise as difficult to absorb.  This turmeric tea is beneficial for PCOs as it reduces its symptoms, balances hormones and lowers depression.

Its side effects are rare or very limited. So you can have to see as long as you wish to. However limited consumption is taking 2 – 3 cups a day, 30 minutes after every meal. If you eat healthy along you will lose up to 1 kilo in two days that too without any exercise, it’s that effective.
